Reconstruction of Krishna Dyo Falcha in Panga, Kirtipur
With the financial and technical support from Lumanti in coordination of the Kirtipur Municipality and ward office, Krishna Dyo Falcha in Panga, Kirtipur Municipality has been reconstructed in active participation of the local people and the members of Shree Krishna Dyo Falcha Users Committee.
Lumanti Support Group for Shelter, Shree Krishna Dyo Falcha Users Committee and Ward 5 of Kirtipur Municipality organized a social audit on Reconstruction of Krishna Dyo Falcha and Falcha (traditional rest place) handover program in Panga, Kirtipur Municipality on 20 December 2020.
The Social audit program was aimed to share about accomplishments of the project and its activities, challenges and lessons learnt with the various stakeholders of the community. During the program the financial detail of the renovation works of Falcha (traditional rest place) was also presented by Secretary of Users Committee Nanda Kumar Maharjan in the presence of various key stakeholders of the project including Mayor Ramesh Maharjan, Deputy Mayor Saraswati Khadka, Ward Chairperson Rajendra Kumar Maharjan, ward officials, Board Member of Lumanti Support Group for Shelter Umesh Malla, Chairperson of Panga Womens' Saving and Credit Cooperative Ltd. Bina Maharjan and the representatives of users Committee, community members and stakeholders.
Mayor of Kirtipur Municipality, Ramesh Maharjan delighted by the effort made by Shree Krishna Dyo Falcha Users Committee, stakeholders and Lumanti team. He added, Lumanti is working on Heritage Recovery Plan of Panga, Chovar and Kirtipur in coordination with community, ward and stakeholders. Deputy Mayor Saraswati Khadka thanked Lumanti for the reconstruction of traditional Falcha (rest place) and requested all to construct traditional houses to conserve and promote culture. Ward Chair Rajendra Kumar Maharjan requests all to protect and conserve the newly reconstructed model Falcha of Panga and municipality supported by Lumanti and MISEROR.
Concluding the social audit program. Madhukar Shrestha, Chairperson of Shree Krishna Dyo Falcha Users Committee acknowledged the financial & technical support from Lumanti and municipality. He thanked Lumanti municipality for financial and technical support for the reconstruction of the traditional rest place.
MISEREOR, Lumanti and local government worked together for the construction of Falcha with active participation of community people in coordination with local authorities and stakeholder. Shree Krishna Dyo Falcha Users Committee has honoured Lumanti, ward and Kirtipur municipality with the Token of Love.
