Community Led Temporary Shelter Construction
With the grant support amounting to NRs 20 – 25 thousand for each temporary shelter by Lumanti through local women cooperatives in Khokana, Thecho, Sanogaon, Thankot, Panga and Thaiba, the community people showed their initiation for the construction of temporary shelters.
The community of Thaiba with the technical support from Lumanti completed the construction of initial 10 Temporary Shelter each sized 10x12 ft and the earthquake affected ten families have already moved in to their shelter. The community people of Thaiba have used the space of the chicken farm for the construction of the temporary shelters.
Likewise, In Thecho two temporary shelters out of 10 are completed whereas the communities of Khokana and Thankot have started the construction of the temporary shelter. Panga, on the other hand, have purchased the construction materials today and are planning to start theirconstruction works from tomorrow. Initially, all the communities will be constructing 10 temporary shelters each.
The community people, especially youth groups from the communities, are actively working with the technical persons and the local masons for the construction of their temporary shelter resulting the speedy completion of the construction works.
