Dayaram Adhikari is a native of Surkhet but recently spent time In India for the job. While on the job, Dayaramwas involved in a tragic accident that caused him to be paralyzed below the waist.  Due to Surkhet’s mountainous topography, Dayaram decided it would be more feasible to live in a flatter region.  Dayaram and his wife then decided to move to Kohalpur due to its leveled terrain and its greater access to services and networks.  

 

They managed to build a small hut in Kohalpur on land owned by his parents albeit it was not comfortable especially during storms and heavy rain. In their old home, the family had to endure heavy rain and storms on a frequent basis making life very difficult. After the loan support from Lumanti through the CLIFF Housing Program, they succeeded in building a comfortable home to live in.
