Lumanti in association with DUDBC and UN Habitat conducted a webinar on Affordable Housing and Prosperity today (20th October 2020). Nearly 85 participants including paper presenters, commentators, community people, representatives of community federations and community groups attended the webinar. 

 

The webinar which was organized to celebrate World Habitat Day and Urban October was initiated with the welcome remarks from the Chairperson of Lumanti Ms Sushma Bajrachaya.

 

There were two paper presentation focusing on affordable housing and prosperity by Ms Lajana Manandhar, Executive Director of Lumanti and Mr Yuban Malla, Program Director of Habitat for Humanity.

 

During the sessions, two representatives from the communities, Ms Bal Kumari Gurung from Pokhara and Ms Namrata Maharjan from Thecho, who are also the beneficiary of housing program implemented by Lumanti,  have shared their views and experiences on housing and the prosperity.

 

Commentators for the sessions were Dr Sunil Babu Shrestha, Vice-Chancellor of NAST and Prof. Shiv Raj Adhikari from Tribhuvan University.

 

The webinar was concluded with the vote of thanks from the Program Manager of UN Habitat Mr P.S. Joshi.

 

The entire session was moderated by the Founder Chair of Lumanti Mr Prafulla Man Singh Pradhan.
