
Dutch WASH Alliance Team Visit to Bharaiya, Kohalpur Municipality.
On 8th of April 2013, a team of Dutch Alliance (Jacqueline Barendre (Director, WASTE), Peter Van der Cinde ( Director, Ahuo), Jacquline Lampe (AMROF), MconeldOovc (ICCO), Dorien De Wit (DWA), Hanny Maas (DWA), Suzan Van Den Wilt (DWA), GuusPaandekCoper (RAIN Foundation), AnefleBrouwerSifrcer ) visited Bharaiya, ward no 13, one of the ODF declared community in Kohalpur Municipality. During the visit the team monitored the status of WASH programme in Kohalpur and conducted public interaction on Micro Finance Initiative (MFI) approach. The visitors were accompanied by the WASH Country Coordinator Mrs. Kalawati Pokhrel.
The team was whole heartedly welcomed by user groups and community health mobilizers of Bharaiya. In the discussion program conducted, where MFI staffs and community equally participated in the session. Chairperson of the cooperative provided a short orientation on the MFI loan cycle being practiced in Kohalpur. The visitors were very much happy to see the change in defecation practices of the community and even remarked as the best community among all they have visited so far in their trip.
Likewise, few other interactive sessions for sharing about the achievements, challenges, action plans and networking of WASH program was also organized in Lumanti office in Kohalpur. Representatives of WASH Coordination Committee from all three interventional wards in K- WASH program participated in this program.
