A Project Inception Workshop was conducted to brief and inform about the  project modality, implementation approach and project activities in Sundar Haraicha Municipality in Morang. Chief Guest of the workshop, Naresh Prasad Pokhrel, Chief of the Morang District Coordination Committee, inaugurated the workshop. More than 25 participants including Mayor and Deputy Mayor of the Municipality, municipal officers, ward chairpersons and representatives from other organizations and stakeholders has actively participated in the workshop. 
 

Chief Guest Pokhrel, speaking on the occasion said, Lumanti is not responsible  of every development initiatives, it is just our helping hand. The Municipality has the major role for the development of the city. He added, the municipality need to be expert in utilizing Lumanti's expertise. Chief Guest Pokhrel also stressed the need for coordination with the stakeholders to avoid duplication. Highlighting the essentiality of sustainability of the program, he said, without the ownership feeling of the community, economic development of the society is not possible. Community participation is essential for sustainable development, he added. 

 

The workshop was initiated with the presentation from Senior Manager of Lumanti Mahendra Shakya. On his presentation, he began with the story about the inception of the organization- Lumanti. He then presented the concept and modality of the project and highlighted the working procedure. 

 

Followed by the presentation from Senior Manager, Laxmi Rai, Field Coordinator of Lumanti highlighted the project objectives and the detail about the project works. 

During the open floor session, most of the participants especially the ward representatives and chairpersons requested Lumanti for the expansion of the project areas to the entire wards of the municipality.
