
Redevelopment project of Shree Mahalaxmi Mahabhairav Bagaicha
The social audit program of redevelopment project of Shree Mahalaxmi Mahabhairav Bagaicha, Lubhu, Mahalaxmi Municipality was held on 31 March 2022. After 2 years of completing the redevelopment project, User committee organized a social audit program in Lubhu. The program was aimed to share about accomplishments of the project and its activities, challenges and lessons learnt with the various stakeholders of the community.
During the program the financial detail of the renovation works of Bagaicha was also presented by treasurer of user committee in the presence of various key stakeholders of the project including Mayor Rameshwor Shrestha, Ward Chairperson Bishwo Raj Shrestha, Executive Director of Lumanti Support Group for Shelter Lajana Manandhar, Chairperson of Didi Bahini women Cooperative Sharmila Maharjan, Senior Engineer and social worker Ram Bahadur Shrestha and the representatives of users Committee, community members and stakeholders.
The redevelopment project of Bagaicha (garden) was identified during preparation of heritage recovery plan project. The Bagaicha was in very dilapilated situation but the most of community of Lubhu identified the space as very significant place for them. So, with participatory planning workshop the redevelopment plan was designed together with local community.
With the financial and technical support from Lumanti in coordination of the Mahalaxmi Municipality, ward 8 office and Mahalaxmi Mahabhairav Guthi, Bagaicha, a flower garden dedicated to Mahalaxmi temple in Lubhu, Lalitpur got redeveloped in active participation of the local community and the members of Mahalaxmi Mahabhairav Samrakshyan Upabhokata Samittee (Users Committee) in 2020. The project was being fund by MISEROER.
