On 9th January 2026, a children’s workshop was conducted in Thasi, Mahalaxmi Municipality, Lalitpur as part of the participatory process to understand the place from the perspective of young users. Through observation walks, drawing, storytelling and wish-list activities, children shared how they currently use the space, areas they like or avoid and what they dream of for the future. The activities created a safe and playful environment where children could freely express their ideas and feelings.
The workshop generated valuable insights on safety, play, shade, greenery and social interaction that are often overlooked in adult-led discussions. Children’s drawings and ideas were documented and later integrated into the community visioning and design process, ensuring that the space is inclusive, child-friendly and responsive to the needs of all users.
The workshop was conducted in coordination with Thasi Depa Conservation Committee, Didi Bahini Saving and Credit Cooperative Ltd. and Lumanti Support Group for Shelter.
