Lumanti announces the Ramesh Manandhar Fellowship Award-2026, an initiative by Lumanti Support Group for Shelter. The fellowship aims to encourage professionals, especially young professionals, to address housing issues faced by marginalized and low-income communities. The initiative provides an opportunity for postgraduates, and researchers (architects, urban planners, structural engineers and related disciplines) to undertake research
on bamboo as structural construction material for housing. The research may explore areas such as durability, climate resilience, cost-effectiveness, policy, community adoption, different joinery systems for bamboo structural members, improvement of structural performance, and comparison of traditional bamboo construction knowledge with modern engineering approaches. There is one position available for this fellowship. The fellowship will span a period of 6 months, with the tentative research timeframe set from August 2026 to January 2027.
