Coordination and Sharing Meeting with Stakeholders

 Lumanti Support Group for Shelter organized a day-long coordination and sharing meeting to update about the project 'Supporting Duration Solution' in Lalitpur on 8th June 2017, Thursday. The meeting was held in the presence of representatives from various stakeholder organizations including District Coordination Committee, District Health Office, Water, Sanitation and Sewerage Department, National Reconstruction Authority, ward representatives from Bungamati and Khokana and Lalitpur Metropolitan City.
 
The program started with a general briefing on the project by the Executive Director of Lumanti Ms Lajana Manandhar followed by the presentation on the current updates of project by the Program Manager of Lumanti Mr Uddhav Bhattarai. On the presentation different information related to the projects and various issues, problems and challenges were shared.
 
The representatives from various organizations then participated in interaction program and put forwarded the recommendations for the betterment of the project activities. 
 
Supporting Durable Solution is a consortium project lead by Oxfam. Other organizations including PIN, Lumanti, and CSRC are assisting for the successful implementation of project objectives. Lumanti is active in 27 communities and associated IDP camps within Kathmandu Valley. Total number of 8 communities and associated IDP camps of Khokana and Bungamati were involved in the plan to provide advocacy services for earthquake victims on various issues. Basic, motive of the project is to coordinate activities in IDP camps, including coordination for relocating, resettling of displaced people, clearance of debris, household survey, severity mapping, analyzing condition related with WASH, security, and other basic facilities to be provided as per the set government rules and regulations. Lumanti has been engaged in sharing the objectives of Durable Solution to the communities, ward offices, municipalities and other major stakeholders including its detail plan for the program. Furthermore, formation of protection committees in all IDP camps of Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur and initiation of Her Safety programs in IDP camps has been conducted beside generalizing issues and challenges faced by the people and advocating for their right to facilities provisioned by government.
