Leadership and Group Management Training in Pokhara

A two days long training program on "Leadership and group management" was conducted in Pokhara focusing for the members of Housing Management Committee (HMC) from 28th to 29th June 2012. HMC is the committee formed in each targeted communities of Pokhara Municipality where Lumanti is intervening Housing Program under the project titled Community Led Infrastructure Finance Facility (CLIFF) supported by Homeless International, UK.
 
An indispensable need was felt for the members of HMC to make them understand the process and working approach of Lumanti and even they were unable to understand the responsibility in their community. This has made Lumanti in Pokhara to organize training in such matters and equip them with knowledge, information and skill related to Leadership and group management.
 
The major objective of the training program was to strengthen to the member of HMC to make conceptual cleared about the project of CLIFF and make active participation during the implementation of the program. The training was also aimed to share knowledge and skills for group management and to make them capable.
 
Police superintendent of Kaski district Mr. Mr Shailesh Thapa chhettri was also invited to interact with participants. On his remarks expressing his commitment for possible support in course of program implementation, he said, it is indeed great to hear that Lumanti is implementing its program in coordination with local administration.
 
Likewise, Resource person from Pokhara municipality Program Officer Mr. Om Raj Poudel was also invited to take session. During his session, he said, implementation of housing program in Pokhara by Lumanti in coordination with Pokhara Municipality is the matter of happiness. Necessary support and cooperation from Municipality will be provided, he added.
 
Resource Persons from Lumanti in Kathmandu Head Office and Lumanti in Pokhara have conducted the training program. Total of 33 people representing HMC from Tansen, Lekhnath and Pokhara participated in the training program.
