Peer Exchange Cum Capacity Building on Women's Leadership and Accountability Practices

Lumanti in a partnership with Huairou Commission (HC) implementing Community Resilience Partnership Program (CRPP) in Kalaiya Sub Metropolitan City working closely with groups, network of grassroots women affiliated with Deepshikha Women's Cooperative.  Through the different exercises and processes identified key 110+ leaders to initiate this program.  To build women's leadership to reach vulnerable people with climate adaptation issues and practices are the key objectives of this program.  To build the capacity of identified leaders peer exchange is considered as key tool for learning and sharing experiences. 

In this regards peer exchange Cum Capacity Building program is organized from 30th – 31st March 2026 in Kathmandu.  This exchange is organized in collaboration with Nepal Members of Huairou Commission under CRPP program implemented by LUMANTI. 

The main objectives of the peer exchange were to learn and share on practices of each organization on women's leadership and climate adaptation practices, learn on green accountability practices and visit the communities to get ideas on tools, ways of work and changes through various local level practices on climate change adaptation.  Two days exchange was fruitful and inspirational that grassroots leaders learned the different level of local practices on women's leadership, climate adaptive practices and also build capacity on understanding accountability and transparency in ongoing initiatives that how grassroots women are accountable in action in different level from community, government, network and funding partners that would also in kind of showcasing being accountable in their actions and movement. 

Furthermore, all the presented leaders came up with workable actions based on this exchange from leadership to local level practices to make them visible and recognition in different sectors AS COMMUNITY LEADERS.   Altogether there were presence of 33 grassroots leaders, Youth leaders, organization representatives from LUMANTI, HIMAWANTI, CWF and NMES.
