Shanta Pariyar with her two children has been staying in a rented room in Malepatan, Pokhara for the last 17 years. Her husband was a service holder in Radio Nepal but lost his job due to his drinking habit. The drinking habit of her husband was the biggest problem for her family as it forced them to frequently change homes. Ever since Shanta Pariyar's husband remarried, the two don't live together. Since then, she has been struggling to give a better education and decent life for her children.
With the initiation of CLIFF Housing Program in Pokhara focusing for rental families, Pariyar and her family are seeing a better future. They are extremely happy and desperate to move to their new home in Chauthe, Pokhara where a total of 76 houses are under construction.
